Jaco De Bruyn Teams with Gunsmith Fitness: Going for the Gold!

Here at Gunsmith Fitness, we were lucky enough to meet bodybuilding legend, Jaco De Bruyn, while at the Dubai Fitness Expo last November.

A down to earth guy and true fitness professional, Jaco stayed in touch with the team at Gunsmith over the last few months.

When he decided to make a comeback in the WBFF Worlds, we knew there was only one thing missing from his comeback.

So we reached out and sent Jaco one of our custom Bespoke Belts to aid his quest to get the gold in August.

Who is Jaco De Bruyn?

Consummate fitness professional. World-class bodybuilder. International household name throughout physique circles.

Jaco burst onto the bodybuilding scene in 2013-2014.

In the 2013 WBFF World Championships, he finished in 3rd place. In the 2014 WBFF World Championships, Jaco slipped up a little - but still finished in 4th place.

Then he took the last four years off to focus on building a business and taking advantage of opportunities in the fitness industry.

According to Jaco (1):

“I haven’t been on stage for almost four years, but for good reason. The last 4 years were my hard working years to build a name for myself internationally, build my businesses. It's very intimidating to think that I will be on stage this year, but I think it's important to my followers because this was the reason they followed me for the first time. My reasons for competing now are also completely different from what it was four years ago. Let's see if I still have what it takes to be on a world stage.”

Jaco is ready for the Worlds.

Here at Gunsmith, we couldn’t be more excited to watch him compete. But everyone, including Jaco, knows that this won’t be an easy task.

The stakes have raised. The talent pool has widened. And he knows it’ll take more to win than in years past (2):

“I feel there is going to be a lot of pressure on me because I know my followers want this from me, but also being off stage for so long it is a bit intimidating. There’s so many new amazing talents came from the industry in the last four years. It's going to take a lot of discipline, determination, and dedication from myself to prove I can do this and be on top of my game.”
